SAB 100

SAB100

General information

For the production of integral covers in two steps.

Thanks to its innovative digital system, the SAB 100 delivers a total and simultaneous logical control of all speeds. Also, the machine controls automatically both the length of the incoming/outgoing sheets and the quantity being processed.

In the event that a sheet does not complete its work cycle, the machine stops, displaying the jam point and allowing, if possible, the completion of subsequent processes.

The simplicity of the digital system also allows to work with individual machines, connect the system to other types of machines (second group SAB, Cordoba, Metro), or add accessories for special processes; all with visualization and controls from the touch screen panel.

SAB 100 can be upgraded, even at a later stage, by adding a second group at 90°, transforming the machine into a SAB 100C for the production of book covers in a single step.

First step

Covers are fed by a belt feeder or a pile feeder. Then they are scored on the spine in parallel with the foldable flap lines. Gluing and folding of the flap lines take place immediately after.

Second step

Covers are fed by a belt feeder or manually (it is not possible to use the pile feeder), then the last two scoring lines and folds are made.

Option: Fly Cut

Once placed on the central creasing rollers, the Fly Cut system allows to cut the four corners of the integral covers on the move (without stopping the paper) and in line (simultaneously with creasing, gluing and folding), reducing costs and ensuring constant quality.

In fact, without Fly Cut, the preparation or cutting of the four corners is always performed outside the machine, using manual corner-cutting devices equipped with special shaped cutting tools. This leads to long preparation times and, often, inconsistent dimensional quality.

The shaped blades of the Fly Cut are made up of an adhesive metal die cutting form, and customized cutting shapes can be created on request.
