Die creasing

Die Creasing

General information

Extreme precision for a clean fold with no cracks.

Creasing is a necessary step if you want to obtain a clean fold, especially when using heavier cardboard material, laminated leaflets or photographic paper.

The “die creasing technique” uses the same blade and matrix tools found in die cutting machines for precision creasing. This method, different from scoring, has gained popularity in recent years due to its high-quality outcomes across various materials, paper fibers, and treatments, along with its ease of use.

In this process, the material is precisely aligned before the creasing blade presses it against a matrix. This action can be repeated multiple times in the same spot or adjusted by decimal increments to fine-tune the creasing line's depth and width.

Additionally, the versatile "die" mechanical technology allows for both continuous and step perforations in paper or cardboard. This technique is particularly useful for pre-determined cutting lines, offering the flexibility to alternate between continuous or programmable circular longitudinal perforations, such as those used for "coupon" type perforations.
